Okay, my husband bought my machine for me in 2002 for Valentine's Day. I don't sew nearly as much as I used too, but today since I got off early I decided I was going to make a fabric shopping bag from some of my tons of material.
I am almost done when....
Are you ready for this?
Are you sure?
If you are a seamstress, read no further or you will run screaming into the night...
The whole middle assembly (you know, the foot, the needle holder - all of it) fell OUT. Including some little pin that I have no clue where it goes.
SO I am hoping that Santa brings me one of these for Christmas:
Because I will never buy another Brother sewing machine for as long as I LIVE!!!!!!
They took my cast off yesterday. I had two options:
1. Wear it for another month
2. Remove it and be put in a walking book for a month
Since I so missed shaving my leg and showering, I opted for the boot. It is way more comfortable than the one from the summer. It absorbs a lot of the shock when I walk, but I am hurting badly today (which he said was normal and that it might hurt for the next week rebuilding the muscle). I can only take it off when I shower or when I am sleeping. I could have braided my leg hair...
I don't remember if I told yall about the MRI report - ruptured achilles tendon from my ankle up to my knee on the back side of my leg. I even broke down this morning and took a Darvocet.
By the way, I guess you've probably noticed a couple of changes to my blog in the way of posts. The Lord is really convicting me about some things...
For a while I was really aiming to be a caustic, witty blog (and to some point - that won't change because that is just who I am); however I am feeling the move of the Lord in my life and it is time to reflect the change here.
Ours was fairly food fight free...except the Coconut creme pie. Bry-onicle, Nana Beachy, and The Cop Magnet all got some of that.
We didn't deep fry the turkey this year (which I kind of missed)...
Tomorrow I will be featured on Etsy (at least my crochet stuff will be). I can't wait for that. Maybe I will sell something and it will pay for the featured fee. LOL
Wednesday I go back to the ortho and maybe get my cast off. The MRI came back and I ruptured my Achilles Tendon. Since the rupture wasn't terribly bad, the cast is the treatment. It doesn't hurt any more so I am thanking the Lord for that.
Well everyone - I have a Sunday Paper calling my name... I didn't get to go to church today because it is kind of slick out. The boys did go, though. Tomorrow I might have to check them out early and take them to work with me for a couple of hours. Nana Beachy has to take her dad to the doc and might not be home in time to pick them up. I need to save my time for Wednesday.
Oh yeah and if you like sales, my black Friday sale runs through until tomorrow on Usborne Books. If you look in the clearance section, you might even find some as low as .89 cents! Can't beat that for a Christmas present. They ship via UPS.
I have an MRI this morning to find out about the tendons and ligaments or whatever they are in your foot. This should tell me how long I have to wear the cast. The boys only have two days of school this week and I have three days of work.
I am ready for a nap already. Don't know where I'll park at work - the parking lot I usually park in will no doubt be full. It will be a LONG walk to the building with crutches. Parking is the only thing I don't like about my job.
International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict
Anyone else interested in what our Nobel Prize winning Al Gore will have to say?(crickets chirping in the background) Yeah, I didn’t think so either…
This is one of those weird holidays that I wish didn't exist.
And in other news... T-11 days until my complete and total day off!
Wait, though, until you hear the reason why. This person is on a mom's site googled her nickname (I use practicalchick or practical chick for everything so I am pretty easy to find online LOL). She was upset that her profile, her messages (and thus every thing she said about her hubby negative) would be able to be found by him if he was to try and find it.
My response was pretty simple - something along the lines of don't say anything to anyone about your hubby that you wouldn't want him to say about you to someone else...but that is just my opinion.
The last three words, to me, are the key words. She responded to me that if he found it then screw it, he deserved to know. My thought - that I did NOT post was that if the problem was that bad why not go to him instead of a bunch of people that you know nothing of?
Some other person said I was being "judgmental" because more than 50% of marriages end in divorce...gee - I wonder why. If was was being nagged, harped on, put down, etc etc - I wouldn't hang around either because it is pretty obvious I could never please you in any fashion.
Yeah - me living by the golden rule and loving the First Amendment and following God's rule about not nagging (hey - I understand that everyone needs to vent from time to time)...that makes me "judgmental". What do you think about it?
One person for the whole e-show...kind of makes the scavenger hunt a little easy. We plan on doing it again next week, though.
All in all - the week has been rough. Bry-onicle is recovering from bronchitis. I used ALL of my leave to take care of him last week...oh and I lost control of the Z and now I have to buy a car for sure.
So...by Tuesday I will know for sure if I am done with the car shopping fiasco.
We went to a Hyundai dealership to look around and I test 08 Elantra that was right off the truck. It is the same size as a Honda Accord. It was blue. Speaking of Honda, The Cop Magnet's Civic might have a seized engine.... So even if we just bought one car we are back to square one since the Camaro is really not going to do well doing an 8o mile round trip every day.
By the time we left (four hours later) we are getting the Elantra and an Accent (07 - with the sports package of course). We were told to pick the Accent up yesterday. We were up there at 8:30 and we were told that it wouldn't be ready until 10. We drove 50 miles at this point, so we just went to BK and had breakfast and let the kids play in the play place. We go back and we are told that the dealership is just waiting for the bank to open...I knew right there that it was a lie. The bank they are using isn't open on Saturdays. They said they would call us before the OU / TX game. Of course - they don't.
We called every hour and finally told them we wanted to know something by 6. They don't call so The Cop Magnet calls them back. He talks to someone that claimed to be the GM and was told that they never approved the second car and that now we are stuck with just the one. The Cop Magnet told him that our signed contract says and that they will either fulfill it or they can take back the Elantra and we would sue for breach. All of a sudden - they now want us to come back to the city (in the rain) and talk about it.
The sales guy was waiting and said that everything would be straightened out on Tuesday since Monday is a holiday and the bank will be closed. He said that he would drive to Norman to have me sign the papers and then that he would drive to OKC to have The Cop Magnet sign. We made them put that in writing and we made it very clear that if it doesn't happen, I will bring the car back and take my business else where. It is a matter of principle.
It is a nice car, but I will not tolerate being lied to.
It took me about two hours to make. It should have been bigger, but I ran out of that specific eye lash yarn. I never had the chance to get back to Dollar Tree to see if they had any more. It's okay, though. It is long enough to do what it is made to do. And yes, that's me.
I am so restless today. I started working on several projects that I want to do (a wall organizer made from old jeans, a bag). I just can't seem to stay focused. Part of it is that with the organizer I don't have enough material for backing. I guess I could work on Monkey Butt's hat.
The Cop Magnet will be working on the bathroom later. You know, since his dog ate my floor and all...
