I didn't do a blog post about this because so many others are...but you asked what I think...well, I think it is the most moronic thing I have ever heard - for a few reasons.
1. Why is a SCHOOL giving away birth control to anyone? School nurses, while well educated, are NOT doctors and should NOT be giving BC - when a woman goes on BC she is suppose to get a complete medical exam first. God forbid one of those little girls (and that is what they are - LITTLE GIRLS) has a heart problem that hasn't been diagnosed yet, then she takes the pill, did you know that in some cases this can cause death??? What are these school officials thinking? School nurses are NOT doctors and schools should NOT be handing out BC to kids.
2. Without parental consent - are they INSANE? Why yes, they are. Suzy goes to the health center, gets the pill, it makes her violently ill (as it can for some people) then she ends up in the hospital - NO ONE knows why! Not to mention they are underage and not mature enough to even handle the use of such drugs. I can just see little Suzy forgeting a few days and taking 3 at once to catch up - unreal!
3. The majority of 11, 12, 13 year old girls getting pregnant aren't getting pregnant by 13 year old boys - it is by CHILD RAPISTS - 18, 19, 20 years old - and older! There are crimes being committed and people want to drug the girls rather than deal with what is really going on.
4. Parents need to parent - geesh! Yeah, I had sex at 17..I admit that...but no way in heck would have even thought about it at 11 because my parents were in my face, in my life, and knew everything - GOOD parenting works!
I am so sickened by this world...Can you tell this gets me riled up?
